New Lens, New Perspective - 50mm f1.8 - First Attempt

After a year of photography experience, kit lenses become restrictive and one must upgrade to expand available subject matter and increase the crispness and uniqueness of photographs. I knew I wanted a fast lens but was unsure of what to purchase as I predominantly photograph landscapes and have no need to spend an exorbitant amount of money on the ability to use larger apertures. I was hesitant to buy a 50mm prime lens but the combination of low cost and large apertures had me sold.
50mm lenses more or less mimic what one sees with their eyes, allowing for easy estimation of final composition. The set focal length has caused me to seek out new subject matter, helping break out of the monotony of recent photographs. The superb optics create much clearer photos and allow for an exponentially greater bokeh effect. While I was originally hesitant on buying the lens, I would recommend it to anyone as it has increased my photographic ability instantly.
