As colder, crisper air drops in from the north, sunlight isn't dispersed by particles in the air as much as usual creating vivid sunsets. The colors of a sunset tend to sit on the right side of the color spectrum dominated by yellows, oranges and reds. Winter winds create unique cloud patterns while various city landmarks create spectacular foregrounds for sunset photographs. The Victorian architecture of Phipps Conservatory, filled with curved glass, unique shapes and ornate decor reflects the light and exposes the interior. The Hot Metal Bridge once transported molten steel and is now a perfect spot for capturing sunsets of a similar color. Similar to the view from the Hot Metal Bridge is the view from Schenley Park, a perfect combination of nature and an urban view with a wide view showing all aspects of a sunset.
