Lightning Never Strikes Twice - Pittsburgh, PA

With the weather rapidly changing I thought it would be appropriate to re-post some of my greatest captures to date. In May of 2014 I went to one of my new found spots in Greenfield at the end of Forrester Street, a private drive with an unparalleled view of downtown, Oakland, Mt. Washington and the South Side along the Monongahela River. What I anticipated to be a typical shot of Pittsburgh on a cloudy day ended up being some of the best shots I have ever captured and all because I was on the right place at the right time. A quick summer storm rolled through and my shutter closed in tandem with several massive lightning strikes. As a beginner this was the highlight of my time as photographer. Since that day I have attempted to capture lightning in the same manner and have never come close to similar results.
