Oakland Series (Part II)-Phipps Conservatory

Sunlight beams through glass panels spanning along steel arches over 100 years old. Gifted by one of Pittsburgh's steel magnates in 1893, the facility is one of the greenest in the world and hoses an abundant number of gardens and plants. Victorian architecture is the highlight of this Oakland landmark evident in wide arches and domes. Located in Pittsburgh's civic park, Schenley Park, Phipps is the crowned jewel of the city's civic structures. With its ability to stay open all year round, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a perfect escape for the regions residents.

The following pictures were taken on two separate occasions. The exterior photographs were taken on an exceptionally lit day while the interior photos were taken when the butterfly room was open after a light rain.
