Oakland Series (Part I)-Schenley Park

Pittsburgh has a wide variety of unique vantage points, but none combine parkspace and a sprawling view like Schenley Park does. Located farther away from downtown, the park allows easy access without the hassle of parking and traffic. Facing downtown directly from the east makes for sunsets that are always magnificent from the top of the Schenley oval, with large trees and rolling fields for framing.

While this part of Schenley Park is in Squirrel Hill, it looks over Oakland and is adjacent to all of Oakland's landmarks and educational centers, with the parks grand entrance being in Oakland.  The following pictures were taken during a summer sunset. Using the large trees at the top of the frisbee golf course as natural frames and the expansive grass field for a unique perspective, allows one of Oakland's and Pittsburgh's best landmarks to show its colors.
